The San Diego Chargers signed three-time Pro Bowler (2001, 2002, 2004) left tackle Tra Thomas to a one-year contract.
The signing is apparently and insurance in left tackle Marcus McNeil continues to holdout. McNeil along with Shawne Merriman and Vincent Jackson are unhappy with their status a restricted free agents.
Tra Thomas was with the Jacksonville Jaguars last year and played in just eight games, starting once. He was a first-round draft pick of the Eagles in 1998, went to the Pro Bowl three times, played in five NFC championship games and one Super Bowl.
